Deathgrass is a subgenre of bluegrass music that incorporates elements of death metal. A guilty pleasure of mine, I made a visual explanation for the uninitiated.
To reinforce the theme of opposites coming together I conducted visual research into deathgrass album covers, lettering styles associated with bluegrass and death metal performances, woodcut and 19th-century engravings, and Appalachian folklore.
